Microsoft's Game Pass service continues to grow with 25 new additions this month, including several AAA titles launching directly on the service.

Microsoft has announced the largest single-month expansion of Xbox Game Pass in the service's history, adding 25 games across Game Pass Core, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate tiers. Critically, four of the additions are day-one releases — games launching simultaneously on Game Pass and at retail — including two AAA titles from Xbox Game Studios.

The announcement includes several highly anticipated additions. Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment's first-person RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, joins Game Pass on day one alongside Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Several major third-party titles are also joining the service: a major JRPG from Square Enix, two FromSoftware backlist titles, and the complete collection of a beloved adventure game series.

The subscription service now offers over 500 games across its tiers and has crossed 34 million active subscribers globally, making it the largest subscription gaming service by content volume and subscriber count. Microsoft's strategy of including first-party titles at launch continues to drive subscriber growth, though the impact on game sales revenue remains a topic of industry debate.

Microsoft also announced Game Pass Family Plan pricing, allowing up to 5 family members in the same household to share a single Game Pass Ultimate subscription at a 40% discount over individual memberships. The company is positioning this as a response to rising gaming subscription costs across the industry and a direct answer to PlayStation's similar PlayStation Plus plan restructuring.

Absolutely massive news. The gameplay footage exceeded every expectation I had. Fall 2025 can't come soon enough.

The detail in the world design shown in that trailer is staggering. Rockstar clearly spent years perfecting every block.

Never thought I'd see the day. Lucia as protagonist is a great choice — really excited for the dual story structure.
